Maybe it was especially apparent to me this season because I’m currently reading Echart Tolle’s A New Earth, but fashion week seems to test everyone’s ego. I called my sister after an intense run in at the Hermès show, and she tauntingly replied, “You don’t say…egos? In fashion?”
Maybe she has a point!
There was terrible traffic on the way to the Hermès show on Saturday afternoon and I sat anxiously in the back of a taxi for about 45 minutes as we inched along the Seine. I would have loved to walk, but I was afraid of ruining my silk shoes in the rain. When I finally arrived at the venue, I breathed a heavy sign of relief upon seeing that between the weather and the general pre-show commotion, there was still a large crowd of people waiting to enter.
In hindsight, how lucky I was to arrive exactly when I did, as it resulted in the beautiful photo above by photographer Alina Kolot.
Life constantly teaches you not to worry and that everything, even in fashion, happens for a reason.
