Amid our current crisis of constitutional protections, it feels like a strange time to talk about fashion or style. Who cares what you’re wearing if you’re too afraid to leave your house or feeling completely overwhelmed from fighting for basic human rights? Beyond spreading awareness and calling our representatives, we can also fight fascism with fashion, by using our buying power to send a message!

I’m in the snowy woods of Pennsylvania this week, and yesterday my mom and I spent the day visiting and supporting our favorite local businesses. While it may seem like a small action, choosing to dine at a local cafe instead of a large chain, or selecting something pre-loved from a vintage or local store instead of Amazon, is a great way to not only be sustainable but also to support your community!
